Application Process
Surface Preparation:
Tiles must be firmly fixed and joints must be free from tile-fixing adhesive, contamination, dust, oil and water. Joints must be clean and completely dry before grouting.
Mixing:
Shake the Hardener bottle and stir the Base before mixing. Add all Hardener to the entire Base and mix thoroughly. Slowly add the pre-measured Filler and mix until a uniform colour and lump-free consistency is achieved. High-speed or excessive mixing should be avoided.
Application:
Press the grout firmly into the joints using a hard rubber squeeze, ensuring that joints are completely filled. Work in small areas and remove excess grout diagonally across the grout lines.
Cleaning:
Clean surplus grout within 10–15 minutes using a rough textured sponge dampened with clean water. A damp sponge can then be used in a circular motion to achieve a flush joint. Epoxy/water residue should be cleaned using a fine textured damp sponge. Light epoxy residue can be removed using an alkaline detergent.
Consumption / Coverage
The datasheet states that the coverage values are indicative and can vary depending on tile size, tile thickness, joint width and wastage during application.
| Tile Size | Tile Thickness | Joint Width | Coverage |
|---|---|---|---|
| 300 × 300 mm | 7 mm | 2 mm | 0.15 kg/m² |
| 300 × 200 mm | 7 mm | 2 mm | 0.19 kg/m² |
| 200 × 200 mm | 5 mm | 2 mm | 0.16 kg/m² |
| 150 × 150 mm | 5 mm | 2 mm | 0.22 kg/m² |
